Fishers Island Birds

The HLFM is maintaining a list of Annual Reported Bird Sightings on Fishers Island and its surrounding waters.

In 2019, there was a total of 140 species checked off. This year, as of May 1st, there have been 99 different species reported. The data are collected from a group of knowledgeable birders and updated on a monthly basis. The spring and fall bird counts that are conducted by the Fishers Island Conservancy are also added to the list.

If you want to join the group compiling data, please contact the Museum by phone or e-mail and we’ll send you the record forms.
