Fishers Island Birds

The HLFM is maintaining a list of Annual Reported Bird Sightings on Fishers Island and its surrounding waters.

In 2021, there was a total of 186 species checked off. This year, as of May 1st, there have been 86 different species reported. The data are collected from a group of knowledgeable birders reporting on a monthly basis. Additional information is garnered from eBird reports and annual bird counts reported by various birding groups.

We would greatly appreciate your participation in our project. Please contact the museum by phone or email to begin receiving the monthly sighting report forms. At the end of each month, take a photo of your list and text or email it to the museum. Any sightings you can provide are welcome.
