Defending the osprey chicks June 7th

On the morning of June 7, 2022 the osprey nest at the end of Middle Farms came under a brief attack by another osprey. The video clip below begins with the female osprey fortifying the nest, but she leaves  around 7:47:51 and returns when another osprey flies near the nest (7:48:32). She shields the chicks

The second of three osprey eggs hatched at Middle Farms nest around 2:05 AM on June 6, 2022. Vicki Rafferty was watching the live web cam from California again, and provided screen captures to confirm the second egg had hatched almost two days after the first egg. THE SKETCHBOOKS OF CHARLIE FERGUSON

In the full sweep of Fishers Island’s history, there is no artist more synonymous, more closely associated with Fishers Island than Charles B. “Charlie” Ferguson. The main show features images from two of Charlie's sketchbooks which functioned as illustrated diaries that were filled with daily activities, nature observations, personal notes, and lots of art—drawings, sketches, and watercolors—in various states of completion.
