Conversion of Fort Wright’s Building 98
into a Community Center
From its beginnings as a commissary building for the Fort Wright army complex, Building 98 has evolved into a center of community activity on Fishers Island.
We host regular meetings, workshops, and classes. Our gym is used by a broad swath of the community. The bowling alley is housed in the building and reminds us of an activity left over from the Ft Wright days. Our versatile spaces can be used as daily office workspace and we provide internet and printer support. We generally serve coffee and baked goods in the morning, a feature that everyone enjoys. We also have an active kitchen and host regular community dinners, which, once again, reminds us of the original purpose of the building.
