The Coalition’s focus this spring and summer will be on reaching out to the island community and off-island stakeholder groups for feedback on proposed seagrass management areas.
This short survey will help inform future outreach and education efforts regarding the island’s water quality.
The grant will deliver an outreach program to stakeholder communities presenting scenarios for eelgrass protection at Fishers Island, New York, and New London, Connecticut.

In this case, it provides habitat for small invertebrates and crustaceans which in turn become food for migrating shorebirds.
The Fishers Island Seagrass Management (FISM) Coalition will be holding it's next Coalition meeting on Wednesday, November 18th from 11am-2pm EST via Zoom.
