FISM Coalition Meeting November 18

The Fishers Island Seagrass Management (FISM) Coalition will be holding it's next Coalition meeting on Wednesday, November 18th from 11am-2pm EST via Zoom. If you are not a Coalition member, but would still like to join and observe, please email the FISM Coordinator, Connor Jones, at fishersislandseagrass@gmail.com for more details.

The Henry L. Ferguson Museum

The Museum hosts three main galleries that feature Fishers Island-related Archaeology (Prehistory), Natural History and History, as well as adjacent annual exhibition space and a reference library. In addition, the Museum holds and maintains a Land Trust with properties located on all sections of the Island.

SUMMER HOURS

Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; 2-4 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Sunday: 11 a.m. – 12 noon Closed Mondays Other times by appointment. Please contact the Museum at 631-788-7239 or e-mail info@fergusonmuseum.org Expanded hours on summer rainy days. Call to confirm. The Museum’s Land Trust trail system is open for visitors.

THE SKETCHBOOKS OF CHARLIE FERGUSON

In the full sweep of Fishers Island’s history, there is no artist more synonymous, more closely associated with Fishers Island than Charles B. “Charlie” Ferguson. The main show features images from two of Charlie's sketchbooks which functioned as illustrated diaries that were filled with daily activities, nature observations, personal notes, and lots of art—drawings, sketches, and watercolors—in various states of completion.
