Architectural historian Bryant F. Tolles Jr. will give an illustrated lecture on the history and architecture of grand resort hotels in New Hampshire’s White Mountains as seen within the broader context of hospitality tourism in the New England region. Mr. Tolles is the author of “Summer by the Seaside: The Architecture of New England Coastal Resort Hotels, 1820-1950,” and “Summer Cottages in the White Mountains: The Architecture of Leisure and Recreation, 1870 to 1930.”
