Honoring the late Sarah “Sally” Ferguson

HLFM Board Member Sarah "Sally" Ferguson died on February 8, 2011 at her home in New Haven, Connecticut. The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven has an article posted on their website that honors Sally's tradition of quiet philanthropy.

The Henry L. Ferguson Museum

The Museum hosts three main galleries that feature Fishers Island-related Archaeology (Prehistory), Natural History and History, as well as adjacent annual exhibition space and a reference library. In addition, the Museum holds and maintains a Land Trust with properties located on all sections of the Island.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND HOURS

Fri: 10 am – 12:30 pm; 2 – 4 pm Sat: 10 am  12:30 pm; 2 – 4 pm (gardening program on 2nd floor: 11 am – 1 pm) Sun: 10 am – 12:30 pm; (and in afternoon if it’s raining) Monday: 11 am – 3 pm The Museum’s Land Trust trail system is open for visitors.

THE SKETCHBOOKS OF CHARLIE FERGUSON

In the full sweep of Fishers Island’s history, there is no artist more synonymous, more closely associated with Fishers Island than Charles B. “Charlie” Ferguson. The main show features images from two of Charlie's sketchbooks which functioned as illustrated diaries that were filled with daily activities, nature observations, personal notes, and lots of art—drawings, sketches, and watercolors—in various states of completion.
