Charlie Tracking: June 19 – One Trip to Thames River

6/19/14    After midnight Charlie leaves the trees northwest of the nest and returns to the nest area at the west end transfer station where he remains all morning until noon time. He then makes 3 trips between the nest and the west end shoreline to hunt for food and then around 1:30 p.m. heads north

6/20/14    Charlie spends the early morning near the nest, then from 8:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., he makes multiple trips to the shoreline to fish and returns to the nest in-between. He then remains near the nest all afternoon, and after 5:30 p.m. makes a few trips to the southern shoreline and one to Silver

6/16/14    In the early morning, Charlie makes multiple strips to the shoreline along the west end to hunt for food and stops by the nest in-between. Then around 9:15 a.m., he heads to the mainland to fishes at the mouth of the Thames River and along the Groton shoreline then returns to the nest on

Edwin 2014, June 14 – Baker Cove, to Northwest Waterways

6/14/14    Edwin spends most of the morning in Groton, first at Pohegnut Reservoir, then just to the south at the Tilcon/Baker Cover area from 6:15-11:30 a.m. He then heads east towards Noank, but circles back towards Baker Cove to fish along the shoreline and the Thames River reaching as far north as the Gold Star

6/15/14    Edwin spends the early morning at Oxoboxo Lake in Montville, and Gardner Lake on the Salem border to the northwest. Around 8 a.m., he heads west to fish along the Selden Neck Park/Hamburg Cove areas of the Connecticut River from 8:45-10:45 a.m., and then returns to Salem and is at Barnes Reservoir from 11:15-12:15

THE SKETCHBOOKS OF CHARLIE FERGUSON

In the full sweep of Fishers Island’s history, there is no artist more synonymous, more closely associated with Fishers Island than Charles B. “Charlie” Ferguson. The main show features images from two of Charlie's sketchbooks which functioned as illustrated diaries that were filled with daily activities, nature observations, personal notes, and lots of art—drawings, sketches, and watercolors—in various states of completion.
