Osprey couple claim the Middle Farms nest for 2026!

By March 31, 2026, a pair of osprey had claimed the Middle Farms nest for the season. Special thanks to Carolyn Ross who spotted the female osprey around 6:40 AM that morning. The ospreycam archives revealed that as early as March 27th the osprey had previously made brief visits to the nest and had begun to stake their claim – by defending the nest and gathering new nest materials.

A female osprey was spotted on the nest by Carolyn Ross on the morning of March 31, 2026.

MARCH 27: An female osprey stops by the nest for a few minutes in the morning.

MARCH 29: An male osprey chases grackles away and begins to assess the nest.

MARCH 30: After a couple attempts by the male osprey to deliver a fish to the nest, the female finally receives it. She eventually leaves with the fish and the male defends the nest from another osprey.

MARCH 30: The male osprey gathers a stick and begins to tend the nest until the female returns.
