This screen capture was taken at the end of May – about one month after incubation began.

An adult osprey was first sighted on the nest March 31, and shortly thereafter was joined by another. A courtship soon followed and by the end of April at least one osprey could be seen on the nest at all times (or most). The usual incubation period for osprey is from 36–42 days, so we were expecting the eggs to hatch by early June. We believe one of the chicks was spotted on morning of June 3, around 7:10 a.m. We are waiting for a more definite sighting before we can confirm that a chick has hatched.

We are hoping to see more activity very soon!
