Osprey at Middle Farms Nest ~ September Migration Update

One of the osprey chicks visited the nest for the last time this season on September 27, 2025.

Early in September, both chicks were often seen on the nest, or on nearby poles and competing for fish, but by the middle of the month it was rare to see them both at the same time unless they were battling for the nest. By September 22, the fish deliveries to the nest became fewer as dad seemed to try to encourage the chicks to fish on their own and prepare to leave the nest. The web cam captured the last osprey chick at Middle Farms nest on the morning of September 27, 2025 – before it began migration that day.
