The osprey dad delivers fish and receives viewing of third chick on June 4, 2025.
On June 4, 2025 the ospreycam at Middle Farms nest captured the third chick hatching from its egg – 2 days after the second chick hatched. The video clips below capture some of the nest activities during the first two days for the third chick.
JUNE 4: While mom is feeding two chicks, the third chick cam be seen hatching in the background. Soon after mom nestles the three chicks.
JUNE 4: Dad delivers fish remains and receives a viewing of the third osprey chick – while mom eats and feeds the other two.
JUNE 4: On this extended clip, dad delivers fish and mom feeds the two bigger osprey chicks. Eventually the little one gets a few bites, and mom takes a quick break away from the nest soon after. She is harassed by grackle upon return.
JUNE 4: Mom is getting much needed rest after feeding the chicks but is startled when dad returns to look for fish scraps. After a while a grackle harasses the osprey, and during the commotion dad finds a scrap and leaves.
JUNE 5: Mom gets up and does some tending of the nest around her and the three chicks – while they stir below.
JUNE 5: Dad delivers fish and mom then feeds the chicks, and defends the nest, and is harassed by a grackle before she is done.
JUNE 5: Mom briefly leaves the nest – providing another viewing of the chicks.
