The video clips below capture some of the nest activities on April 23, 2025.
In the early afternoon on April 23, the osprey couple were tending the nest and mating.
EGG LAID: During the afternoon of April 23, the female osprey started to lay down in the bowl of the nest. After a while, she got up and tended to herself and the area below, then settled back down to begin to incubate her egg.
The male osprey attempts to deliver fish but the female does not try to take it or get up, so he leaves.
The male osprey returns with the fish again shortly after, but the female still does not try to take it.
After coming and going multiple times, the male returns and nudges the female so he can take over incubating (very briefly).
In this edited clip, the male incubated for about an hour while the female kept close watch.
After the male visits multiple times and defends and continues to tend the nest, the female leaves for the first time since laying the egg.
The female osprey returns after less than an hour away.
The osprey couple continue to mate and share in incubation of their egg.
