The third osprey egg was laid at Middle Farms nest shortly before midnight on May 2, 2022 – three days after the second egg. This screen capture showing three eggs was provided by Vicki Rafferty, who was watching from California on May 5th and first confirmed that a third egg had been laid.
The following video clips were pulled from the video back-up to determine the timing of the third egg laying and to provide a view of other nest activities in the days that followed.

During a changing of the guard on May 3, 2022, the male osprey provides fish for female and an opportunity for us to capture a glimpse of three eggs.
After hay was brought in to fortify the nest on May 3, 2022, we got another opportunity to glimpse the three eggs.

Vicki Raffferty first noticed the best opportunity for more than a glimpse to confirm three eggs at Middle Farms nest. It was during the timing of this short clip that she captured her screen grab.
The ongoing nest maintenance continued with the addition of mud on May 5, 2022.
