April 13 ~ After a night at Barnes Reservoir in Montville, Edwin Spent most of the day hunting for food along waterways from Old Saybrook to Preston. He first headed southeast and made a brief stop at Four Mile River in East Lyme, then continued west to the Connecticut River, reaching just into Old Saybrook near the shoreline. By late morning he left the area and headed east to Smith Cove and the Niantic Bay area, then continued across the Thames River to Groton Reservoir. By noon, he had continued further east to briefly visit Hyde Pond in Old Mystic, then headed north to Avery Pond in Preston. In the afternoon he looped back west, first stopping by Hallville Pond in Preston, and crossed the Thames River at Trading Cove in Montville. He continued west to Scholfield Pond, then Fairy Lake in Salem, to Eight Mile River in Lyme, for a second visit to the Connecticut River, this time at Joshua Creek further north. By 4 p.m. Edwin once again headed east to Boque Brook Reservoir in Chesterfield (just south of Barnes Reservoir) and stayed for the night.
