Osprey Update September 23rd

The last images of osprey captured by our Middle Farms nest cam this year was on September 9th.

In September the three remaining osprey from the family that nested at our Middle Farms nest were not captured by the cam and believed to have begun their migration south, but there were a few other osprey that visited the nest on the 6th, 7th and 9th. The video clips below captured these brief visits. For about a week after the last sighting, osprey could still be heard from the cam, but since are believed to also have begun their migration to warmer areas.

SEPTEMBER 7, 2024. A juvenile osprey stops at a nearby pole before visiting the nest briefly, then about a minute later two osprey can be heard nearby communicating with each other.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2024. A female osprey lands on the middle farms nest and another osprey flies by and hovers a couple times but does not land. They both leave the area soon after.
