13th Annual Thanksgiving Trail Clearing & Clean Up
(Plus “Oysters After-Party”)
Friday, November 29, 2019
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
WHERE:
Meet at the Museum before proceeding to the Nature Trails and Stony Beach Clearing.
TOOLS:
Please bring tools you are capable of handling effectively and SAFELY. (NOTE: NO CHAINSAWS)
DRESS:
We suggest you wear long pants, long sleeved shirts, socks and gloves to battle the thorns, ivy, and invasive plants.
BEACH CLEANING:
Driven by popular demand, we will provide heavy duty garbage bags for those preferring to clean beaches (Stony Beach).
OYSTERS AFTER PARTY:
All trail blazers are invited immediately thereafter to a post-clearing party AT THE MUSEUM from approximately 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to enjoy drinks and oysters. Thanks to Fishers Island Oyster Farm, Summer Shuckers and Bottlerocket for their generous repeated sponsorship.
During the post-clearing reception, please check out and enjoy this past summer’s annual exhibit “Against the Tide: Prohibition on Land and at Sea, 1919-1933” generously sponsored by Altus Partners and Chubb.
