After he reached the Yucatan Peninsula in southeastern Mexico, Charlie went “dark” on March 25 (Migration Day 8). He resurfaced (March 26 ~ Day 9) about halfway across the Gulf of Mexico and eventually reached northwestern Florida late in the evening the following day (March 27 ~ Day 10). On (March 28 ~ Day 11) Charlie continued migrating north and crossed into Georgia.

Not the “usual” migration route

Osprey from the northeast that migrate to Colombia, usually follow the Caribbean route, as Charlie did on his way south last fall. It is unclear why Charlie chose the alternate route this spring, but he seems to be back on track towards Fishers Island.
