10/7/14 MIGRATION DAY 26: We are now receiving more of Charlie’s tracking data since he reappeared in Ouest, Haiti on Oct 2. He continued to the Dominican Republic that day and just after midnight (in the early morning of Oct. 3) he began the longest stretch of open water migration over the Carribean. In a little more than 30 hours, he reached Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia around 7 a.m. on Oct 4.

He remained at Santa Marta for a few hours, then continued further south towards the eastern Rio Magdalena watershed region for the rest of the day and night. Mid morning, on Oct. 5, Charlie headed west across the Rio Magdalena, and by mid afternoon was near a lake between Correa and Maria la Baja. He spent the night and the entire next day of Oct. 6 in this area and was still there on the morning of Oct 7.
