9/1/14 – MIGRATION DAY 15: In the early morning, Edwin heads east across Lake Maracaibo and reaches Bachaquero, Venezuela around noon, but he then goes “dark”. We have not received any further transmissions and assume he may have gone out of cell range in the nearby Cordillera De Mérida Mountains.
Hopefully, in the spring, we will find out if he continued southeast to the same location as last year, which was Rio Solimões (upper stretches of the Amazon River) in Lago Amana, Amazonas, Brazil.
