The Henry L. Ferguson Museum
13th Annual Thanksgiving Trail Clearing & Clean Up
(Plus “Oysters After-Party”)
Friday, November 29, 2019
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Meet at the Museum before proceeding to the Nature Trails and Stony Beach Clearing.
Please bring tools you are capable of handling effectively and SAFELY. (NOTE: NO CHAINSAWS)
We suggest you wear long pants, long sleeved shirts, socks and gloves to battle the thorns, ivy, and invasive plants.
Driven by popular demand, we will provide heavy duty garbage bags for those preferring to clean beaches (Stony Beach).
OYSTERS AFTER PARTY:
All trail blazers are invited immediately thereafter to a post-clearing party AT THE MUSEUM from approximately 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to enjoy drinks and oysters. Thanks to Fishers Island Oyster Farm, Summer Shuckers and Bottlerocket for their generous repeated sponsorship.
During the post-clearing reception, please check out and enjoy this past summer’s annual exhibit “Against the Tide: Prohibition on Land and at Sea, 1919-1933” generously sponsored by Altus Partners and Chubb.
